Our Mission Statement.
As the Church Council we believe it is our role to:
Church Council members are volunteers; they work throughout the year helping to develop the Christian ethos of the school.
In 2015-16 we:
Arranged a variety of fundraising activities, including a bake sale, to support local and national charities.
Helped Rev. Jen set up ‘messy church’ and opened a prayer sessions in the church at least once a half term.
Further developed the willow dome as an area of quiet reflection for children and created a ‘reflection box’ to be used outside.
Visited the cathedral and the House of Lords with the Bishop of Sheffield the Right Reverend Dr Steven Crofts.
Further developed links with other church councils in our MAT, possibly via Skype.
Worked together with Mrs Wood and Rev. Jen to plan our assemblies help other children understand the teaching of the bible.
Organised another holy communion and be more involved in organising celebrations in church at Christmas and Easter.
Last year, the Church Council developed the collective worship experienced by the children, made links to Church Councils in other schools and arranged a Holy Communion for children to take part in, if they so wished.
