I have started putting times next to the lessons – these are by no means set in concrete but some children have asked for them to be used as a guide.

MORNING (8:50 to 11:55)

Guided Reading. (9:00 – 9:20) 

Independently answer the questions (see the Emmanuel website)


English  (9:20 – 10:20)

To plan a narrative scene: Final part of final scene. In this lesson, the children will edit and improve a short paragraph before analysing and planning the final part of this narrative scene. This is a dramatic scene where the characters have a heated discussion which turns into a brief, physical altercation.



BREAK (10:20 – 10:40)

Maths (10:40 – 11:40)

Solve problems involving the use of percentages for comparison

In this lesson, we will be solving problems involving the use of percentages for comparison.


If you are not confident in finding percentages of amounts, try this lesson:

In this lesson we will learn how to find percent of a quantity (50%, 25%, 75%, 10%, multiples of 10%)



Read in an extreme place! We have had some fantastic photos of people reading in weird and wonderful places. Make sure you read for a minimum of 15 minutes and record it in your reading diary.

Try and complete 15 minutes of reflex.

Personal, self and health education (PSHE) – (1:30 – 2:30)

Images in the media

You are perfect! Did you know that? Well, if you didn’t, this lesson will remind you and show you that you are perfect just the way you are! To begin the lesson, we will really break down what the term ‘images in the media’ means and then visit a photographer who will show us how photos are edited and explain why companies use photoshopped pictures to sell their product. We will finish the lesson by creating an uplifting postcard which we can give to someone we know and put a smile on their face!
