Thursday 14th May

2 x 15 minutes

Read anything you want – a book, a comic, a magazine, a blog, a web page, anything!

From your pack, read ‘Mad about Metaphors’ and underline all of the metaphors that you can find.  Remember that a metaphor is  a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn't literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison. ... A metaphor states that one thing is another thing, e.g.

  • The snow is a white blanket.
  • He is a shining star.
  • Her long hair was a flowing golden river.
  • Tom's eyes were ice as he stared at her.
  • The children were flowers grown in concrete gardens.
  • Kisses are the flowers of affection.
  • The falling snowflakes are dancers.
  • The calm lake was a mirror.

Choose the Right Word

If you didn’t have time to complete any of the learning from the creative art, light sources or the people of God and what it would be like to be a Hebrew slave.  This is your opportunity to finish it off.  Please post all your hard work to Dojos so that we can give it the celebration and recognition it deserves.

Alternatively, use this time to create something, do something in the house/garden, learn a new skill or language.
