1. Read through the poem ‘The Garden Year’ again.
You will notice that it is set out in pairs of lines. These are called ‘rhyming couplets’.
Can you see why?
For each couplet, put a ring around the rhyming words.
2. Complete the ‘Rhyming strings’ activity.
3. Answer the comprehension questions.
4. Handwriting: Finish copying out the poem.
